The new Conservative-Liberal Democrat Government Alliance is committed to making the budget cuts required to drive the UK out of the current financial deficit.  This will have to go far beyond the initial round of 6bn cuts identified for 2010.

How can this be done? Sir Michael Bichard made the following recommendation following the 2009 budget:
"Use continuous improvement tools such as Lean more systematically across the Public Sector"
