PROCESS MANAGEMENT
Most organisations are designed in a way that encourages functional "silos". All your staff are doing what they must think is the right thing to do, but overall performance is not improving at the rate you need it to. Without an effective understanding of process management, and a clear plan to implement it, many managers will be making many changes without any overall view of how these individual changes affect your key end-to-end processes.
Ultimately, customers don't care about your internal functions but they do see when a process breaks down because:
- No one is managing the process
- Everyone is optimising their own functional performance
- The system isn't allowing your staff to deliver great performance
